Between her demanding career and a contentious custody battle with her ex-husband, overworked single mother Mary decides to hire a friendly neighbour, Eve, to babysit her 8-year-old daughter. At first, Mary thinks the young woman a godsend, until increasingly strange and threatening situations start to take over Mary's everyday life.
