Mysterious Islands travels the seven seas to examine extraordinary curiosities and mysteries found in, on and around islands. The series analyzes these mysteries and contemplates what may still be waiting for discovery.
S1.E1 - Ghost Island
Poveglia, an island near Venice, Italy, is investigated; an exploration of Japan's Battleship Island reveals a troubled history; strange trees are found on the Yemeni island of Socotra; on Indonesia's Flores Island, a skull is found in a cave.
S1.E2 - Murder Island Mutiny
A headless skeleton is discovered on Australia's Beacon Island; near the Marshall Islands, an undersea crater is discovered; in Mexico, an island full of dolls reveals a grim history; animal bones are found on an island in the English Channel.
S1.E3 - Island Wasteland
An abandoned Cold War era Russian military base is explored; a stone structure is discovered on the seafloor near Yonaguni Island; a palatial mansion is found on Isla Grande; a turbulent past is unearthed on Italy's volcanic Stromboli Island.
S1.E4 - Dinosaur Island
Human remains are unearthed on Daksa island; flying objects are spotted above Maury Island; on Isle of Wight, remains of a previously unknown species of dinosaur is found; strange ritual artifacts are uncovered on Sweden's Bla Jungfrun Island.
S1.E5 - Island of the Greek Goddess
Stone artifacts, burial grounds and temple ruins shed light on an unknown civilization. Researchers discover a green light emitting in a dark forest. The remains of a long lost temple are found. Coral rubble is unearthed on Suakin Island.
S1.E6 - Lost Colony of Roanoke Island
Coastal erosion exposes skeletal remains. Researchers discover a special type of spider. New evidence leads archaeologists to unravel the unsolved mystery of the lost Roanoke settlers. Thousands of dead seals confound a wildlife enigma.
S1.E7 - Indonesian Island Mystery
Ancient terraces made of volcanic rock in Indonesia leave their origin shrouded in enigma. Hundreds of human skeletal remains are unearthed. A blood red beach on Hormuz Island ignites wild speculations. Mysterious penguin remains are discovered.
S1.E8 - Scottish Island Fortress
A volcanic island unveils its dark past. Elaborate burials shed light on a powerful and wealthy ancient Egyptian family. A marble head is discovered off a Greek island. Marine biologists investigate the sudden disappearance of tagged sharks.
