From tough times in a tent to a home in Hope Valley, Wilma Lawson has faced it all. Previously known as one of the settlers, Wilma and her family have put down roots in this growing community, transforming them from travelers to townspeople. In season 5, Wilma was encouraged to buy the blue dress from Dottie’s dress shop and while her budget insisted on a return, Rosemary found a way to create a Cinderella scenario. In the end, Wilma got her Hope Valley ever after.

From the first time that Cody entered the community of Hope Valley, the town was forever changed. There have been moments of mystery with many treasures along the way. Learning that he and his sister were orphans only made them more endearing, especially to Abigail. Cody’s selflessness, concern for others and his willingness to express his wise young voice for what he believed in, affected the entire town. These traits, combined with his sense of adventure, a knack for finding himself in a tight spot, and his friendships with other children in his class, have transformed Cody from an orphan to a central part of Hope Valley’s story and future.

From the simple times of Coal Valley to the present day in Hope Valley, Emily Montgomery has been part of it all. Portrayed by Gracyn Shinyei, Emily has melted hearts from her “oh mama” in season one, to her emotional scene with Mr. Stoneman in season four. This expressive young lady has also brought comedic relief with her picture perfect imitations of Rosemary and Mrs. Thornton.

Adorable and accomplished are two attributes that come to mind when describing Canadian actress Ava Grace Cooper. As one of the Hope Valley kids, Ava may be one of the youngest members on set, but her talent, poise and professionalism are beyond her years and indicative of a seasoned actress.

Like a pebble that is dropped into still water, Janette Oke’s stories have had ripple effects, touching the lives of countless people throughout the world. Whether directly impacted by the waves of the water or indirectly by those who have been, the influence of her writing has been a tidal wave of hope, love, healing, faith and inspiration.

As you tune in to watch A Christmas in Royal Fashion, one character that you will love to hate is Melanie Charles, portrayed by Meredith Thomas. While a seasoned actress and natural performer, Canadians may not be as familiar with Meredith’s work on screen. With a background in theatre and extensive filming across the United States, Meredith’s passion for acting and performing is evident. Although she often plays the antagonist, Meredith involves herself in many projects off screen, helping others discover their gifts and abilities through theatre and scripts.

You may find her on the back of a horse or overlooking breathtaking mountain views, but her Canadian talent and charm will transcend the screen. Whether portraying an antagonistic character or a country sweetheart, Cindy will draw you into the story and leave a lasting impression. She is a familiar face on Super Channel Heart & Home, with titles including Autumn Stables, Cedar Cove, Runaway Christmas Bride and When Calls the Heart. She graciously offered the chance to talk more about film, fashion and future projects, particularly her role in A Christmas in Royal Fashion.

From a brief encounter in Hamilton, Nurse Carter took a leap of faith and evolved into an essential member of Hope Valley. Portrayed by Andrea Brooks, Faith’s compassion, sweet disposition and determination to establish an infirmary have connected this character to the fans. Faith’s story has been one full of transition, lost love and uncertainty. However, her journey has taught us that everything has its time and to always follow your heart. It appears as though Faith’s cautious approach and own story will be further explored in Season 6.

Canadian actress Jill Morrison is a familiar face on Hallmark. From her role as Carla on When Calls the Heart to Hazel on Signed, Sealed, Delivered, Jill has portrayed a range of characters with epic expressions, heartfelt moments and entertaining comedic timing.
